I did some backgrounds for a short movie called 'The Childrens World' by instructor Paw Ravn.
It is amazing to see the paintings come to life with particles and butterflies ad lights and characters.

About a year ago my brother asked if I could help with some game graphics for a game called

"Deep Blue Sea 2".

I knew the programmer Brian as a very talented, hard-working and funny guy and was happy to join the team.

We all had very high ambitions and I am very proud of our game.

It looks good, it's devilishy fun and addictive and basically just kicks ass!

I painted this the old-school way by first getting the values right and then slowly applying light and color.
The story centers about the baby, which I tried to show in composition and color.

iPhone art

Just got my new iPhone and immediately got hooked on the

'Brushes' app. It's very intuitive and fast.

I painted this with my finger, but my Pogo stylus pen should

arrive in the mailbox any day. yay :)

It is sooo funy I don' even feel like going back to the 'real'

computer now...

if only it could save the pictures in slightly higher resolution.

Anyway... when painting on a futuristic device like this, the

first piece had to be sci-fi...

Boss Goat

I just found this old piece while searching through an old harddrive.

It is one of my only comic drawings ever. It was a tribute to my friend and colleague Tommy.

There was a saying in the office that whenever Tommy was listening to his music it sounded like he was slaughtering goats.

Yay.

It was a really cool looking project.

It's about a tiger that eats the stars.
The girl came as a natural sidekick.

The Humble Amulet

This was interesting.
Usually a book cover has to show a character and usually
that person has to look in to the 'camera'.

But here I let the house and the lighting play the main
character and the girl is now on the same side as you, the
viewer, looking up at the house.

Well... that was my intention anyhow, if it worked out or not
- you'll be the judge of that.

One morning he received a letter.

The letter contained nothing but a key and an adress.

Curious enough, it was his birthday, and the same day
his parents had chosen to vanish into thin air.

This was indeed the beginning to a peculiar day.

This is another book I'm working on, and though the drawing
itself could use some more work I'm quite happy with the mood.

The light bulb men and the mushroom fairy

This was a fun assignment.

I had complete freedom to paint whatever I wanted, as

long as it has something to do with:

1. two children

2. a time machine

3 a mystical place

So... this was the picture that popped up in my head.

I really hope nobody ever tries to analyze this picture.

Not that I know what messages lies beneath this perfectly normal

scene, but I have this nagging feeling that it's right there - the

message. Like my dreams.

They are always so simple and cliché like me running around

trying different masks... Not very David Lynch!

The troll and the boy.

This is one of those rare projects I did only for the pleasure
of doing it, with no client in the other end. I love fantasy
illustrations, but I think they often lack the kind of mood
and magic I loved as a kid and still do.

My ongoing goal is to make a painting that you want to be in
or moves you in some way...
you want to put on your boots and strap on your bag and
grab your walking stick and start walking towards the foggy
mountains in the distance.

I think I remember where it all started. Of course it somehow
started with reading The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit,
and all the beautiful Astrid Lindgreen books, but way earlier
my father sent me a postcard by the painter Sulamith Wulfing.

This picture triggered my
imagination in so many ways.
I made up several stories about
this little situation.
There's no doubt (for me) that
the painter here put a lot of heart
in it and believed in her characters
and the story she was telling.

Later in my life my father send me another letter.
It was a picture he'd painted on a piece of cardboard.
On the front, a knight dressed in armor with a sword hanging
from a belt, was walking through a forest towards a castle on a hill.
The back revealed a secret world with pixies and a king and a queen.
I guess I would've become a painter no matter what, but these two
letters from my father stands as giant influences and important
moments of my childhood.

I just recently started to make my own brushes, after watching pros such as Jason Chan and Khang Lee in action at the Massive Black workshop in Seattle.

It was like rediscovering Photoshop. Now i just have to learn how to STOP making brushes :)
